About
So who are we and where do we come from? This page is all about us, you will find information about our background, our skills, what we love and all about what we intend to do now we are here at the boot inn.
Anita McKenna
Owner
This is Anita’s second time owning a pub/restaurant. After cutting her teeth in the small village of Ramsbottom, Lancashire, she realised her dream of owning a pub in the Lakes along with husband Stuart.
Although it was always a dream to own a property in the Lakes, it was only after Anita built up a loyal following in Ramsbottom that she and Stuart decided it was time to move North, and so after searching for many years, Anita and Stuart settled on The Boot Inn. Having now moved on from Ramsbottom and deciding to focus solely on The Boot Inn , It has become a bigger success than they could ever have dreamed of!!
Stuart Morris
Owner
Stuart started his career in the hospitality trade over 20 years ago and along with wife Anita they transformed a small village pub in Ramsbottom, Lancashire into one of the places to be. Ask anyone in Ramsbottom and they will tell you that Stuart’s cheese and onion pies are to die for and his cask ales are perfectly kept. He is incredibly passionate about his cask ales and takes great pride in serving a perfect pint every time!
Stuart has a love for the Lakes and has walked here for many years. Not only the owner of the Boot, Stuart is an expert on the surrounding hills and fells. If you stay here at The Boot an want some advice on some hidden gems, give him a shout.

We stayed at the National trust camp site 2 minutes walk from the The BOOT INN. We were extremely impressed by your attentive but not intrusive service , the quality of the food and the Covid disciplines you had implemented. The down side is you had to book due to its popularity First class and cannot recommend this establishment enough.

We’ve just had a weekend break at The Boot Inn, and have had a fantastic time! Our room was perfect… cozy, clean and comfy. The food was outstanding and Sunday Lunch was to die for, as well as the beer! We’ve eaten at the Boot Inn many times when we’ve been camping, but this was our first stay in the pub, and we will definately stay again.
Anita, Stuart and all their team are so welcoming ,friendly and extremely helpful. What a cracking weekend.

I have booked to come in July 25. We honeymooned here in 1985. Can’t remember the landlords name. They were wonderful hosts. I think his wife was Austrian. This is a surprise for my wife and I am looking forward to returning. Wonderful area.
